Dr. Becky Morrow

Biography

Dr. Morrow, a Pittsburgh native, is a practicing veterinarian, assistant professor, and researcher. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Duquesne University and a doctorate in veterinary medicine from The Ohio State University. In addition to six years in general practice, Dr. Morrow has extensive experience in shelter medicine and veterinary forensics, earning a master’s degree as well as two graduate certificates from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Morrow has been in academia for 17 years, spending most of that time at Duquesne University teaching Physiology and Molecular Biology. She recently taught surgical techniques at The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and is currently adjunct faculty at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, and an Assistant Professor at Penn State University.

Dr. Morrow has been developing assays for infectious disease research and diagnostics for over a decade in response to the need for better tests for dogs and cats in shelters. Her passion for shelter animals led her to found and continue to work as the medical director for, Frankie’s Friends, a non-profit animal rescue and high-quality high volume spay/neuter clinic. She is also the past president of the WPVMA and has over 15 years of non-profit leadership in the Pittsburgh region.
